The Adidas / Gatorade Applachian All Star
Classic is an event to showcase the elite boys and girls high school basketball
players in all classes Fr. - Sr. across the entire eastern part
of Kentucky from KHSAA regions 12 thru 16 . Each year for the last 4 years TSS
co directors Ira & Harold Combs have began evaluating both genders of high
school basketball players in early November by attending as many basketball hoop
- o - rams and scrimmages as possible and continue on when the
regualar season begins after Thanksgiving weekend and on thru the holiday
tournament season and regular season until March Madness begins
in our most special time of year here in the Commonwealth .
After compiling all their information of
their scouting reports from active high school coaches plus the TSS scouts
and their own personal evaluations from observing as many games as possible the
Combs Brothers set down in mid February and start the process
of inviting the top level high school basketball players at their
respective positions for each of the four games that will feature those invitees
.
The actual days activities for this special
hoops event is broken down into the following schedule of events / activities
and listed below :
Elite Rookie All Star Game - This game is reserved for showcasing those special 8th & 9th
grade basketball players who were advanced enough that they made actual
contributions to their schools varsity teams during the 2009 - 2010 season .
All participants are awarded medals , t-shirts , and
play in their high school uniform .
Bronze Medal All Star Game - This game is reserved for showcasing the elite sophomores from
across the KHSAA regions of the 12th thru 16th . All
participants are awarded medals , t-shirts , and play in their high school
uniform .
Silver Medal All Star Game - This game is reserved for showcasing the elite juniors from across
the KHSAA regions of the 12th thru 16th . All
participants are awarded medals , t-shirts , and play in their high school
uniform .
Gold Medal Elite All Star Game - This game is reserved for featuring our most special senior class
players who are finishing their high school careers and we like to make their
game and experience a little more special with this being their final basketball
event on the high school level . These all stars are
given a special plaque and gift bag of several items.
Check each monday on this website for an update on who the TSS
Scouting staff is evaluating for this years games and feel free to recommend a
player from your area for us to come and evauate during the season if we don't
have them already listed .
