The Appalachian Regional Hospital High School Hoopfest is in it's 3rd year . This event is set up each year during the week of the Thanksgiving Holidays to showcase some of eastern ky.'s top boys and girls high school basketball teams in a pre season hoopfest setting at the beautiful new ultra modern Sportsplex located on the Hal Rogers Pkwy. just outside Hindman , Ky.

The location of this facility is perfect for attracting teams from all three mountain regions of the KHSAA with the site being only 22 miles from Prestonsburg and 20 miles from Hazard , Ky.

In it's inaugural year there were 10 teams to participate . Now , in it's 3rd year this event has attracted 20 boys and girls basketball teams .

The players will be given souvenir t-shirts by the corporate sponsorship while each head coach is given a nice gift packet of various sports related items for bringing their team to this event .

The team matchups and tip off times for each scrimmage game along with court assignments will be posted on the bulletin board at the Sportsplex . The scrimmage sessions begin at 5:30pm on all five courts and will end at approximately 9:30pm on each court .
